Isabel Oli is fat and fabulous

Isabel Oli gets to play two very different characters in Love to Love Season 11’s Fat is Fabulous. First there is Cristy, an obese and kindhearted girl who yearns to be loved regardless of her weight, and then there’s Tin-tin, Cristy’s super thin and sexy alter-ego, who flirts like there’s no tomorrow.
”(Cristy’s) not contented sa looks niya, and she always wants to be thin, to be sexy, and akala niya, kapag sexy siya, mamahalin na siya ng tao. Si Tin-tin naman, thin version ni Cristy, medyo assuming, medyo mahangin na flirt, opposite talaga. Pero mabait pa rin siya, pero yun, super flirt!” Isabel says.
With the help of magic diet pills that she got from a mysterious doctor, Cristy is able to temporarilytransform into Tin-tin. This is when Tin-tin takes advantage of her physically attractive self and flirts with her longtime crush Bruce, played by Justin Cuyugan.
For Isabel to be transformed into Cristy, she has to have an earlier call time to be ready in her fat suit. “It’s not fun at all, kasi call time nila lahat, 7, ako, 3. Ako yung nauuna, kasi 5 hours yung prosthetics. Nakaupo lang! Tapos nung first day pa namin nag-taping, medyo napalpak, so dalawang beses na inulit, so 10 hours akong nakaupo!”
Isabel also has to bring extra clothes due to all the sweating underneath the costume. “After nung tinanggal nila, feeling ko, sobrang pumayat ako lalo! Kasi sobrang pawis! Tapos ang dami kong dala na sando at shorts, kasi nagbibihis talaga ako every tanggal!”
She adds with a laugh, “Tapos tawa sila nang tawa, nakakatawa daw. Pero cute, ha! Pero it’s not cute wearing the prosthetics. Like, the whole day!”
Cristy’s best friend in the story is Boyong, played by Paolo Contis. Cristy will eventually realize that while she has been head over heels in love with Bruce, the one who has always been there for her, regardless of her flab, has been Boyong. Isabel says that it’s probably Cristy and Boyong’s opposite personalities that make them click. “Ako yung nakakatawa, and si Paolo yung medyo nerd. Di ba kapag isasama nila yun, di ba parang nakakatawa?”
According to Isabel, Fat is Fabulousis different from other stories, because of the lesson it imparts. “Hindi talaga importante kung ano yung sasabihin ng ibang tao sa itsura mo, basta comfortable ka lang, kontento ka lang sa kung ano yung binibigay ng Diyos sa iyo.”
